Job summary

UCSF Medical Center seeks a Practice Coordinator to represent the administrative team and support practice operations and customer service recovery. This role coordinates referrals, scheduling, and billing across UCSF campuses, ensuring accurate information flow among medical staff and departments.

The PC works closely with clinical and management teams to solve problems, manage in-baskets, and maintain high patient satisfaction through effective communication and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent with related experience or college degree with experience.
• Experience navigating multiple patient records systems and basic computer skills.
• Ability to analyze situations, prioritize, and develop solutions.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• New Patient Scheduling and Processing: manage referrals and assign patients to providers.
• Surgery Scheduling: coordinate outpatient and inpatient surgeries and ensure timely communication.
• Revenue Cycle: collect payments, obtain authorizations, and assist with billing processes.
• Check in / Front Desk: greet patients, verify co-pays, and maintain a smooth front-desk flow.
• Administrative and Patient Care Coordination: schedule appointments and coordinate care across departments.
