Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Patient Service Assistant to provide clerical and receptionist support in the practice. You will help manage patient flow, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and register patients with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities include handling payments, coordinating with staff, and ensuring HIPAA compliance while delivering excellent customer service to a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, mathematical and computer skills.
• Keyboarding skills to register patients.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office policies.
• Two years' experience in a medical office or similar setting.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line clerical and receptionist support for the practice.
• Coordinate patient flow: answer calls, schedule appointments, register patients, verify insurance.
• Schedule tests and/or procedures and process referrals.
• Register new patients and explain policies to patients.
• Schedule future appointments, collect copays, process referrals and authorizations.
