Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant to coordinate clerical duties for a busy physician practice in Easton, PA. You will be the first point of contact for patients and providers, manage registration, scheduling, and ensure a smooth patient flow while delivering outstanding service.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of customer service, accuracy, confidentiality, and strong computer/EMR skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform clerical duties for daily physician practice operations.
  • Serve as initial contact for patients and healthcare providers.
  • Deliver high standard of customer service to maintain patient experience.
  • Register patients accurately and verify insurance authorizations.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and manage flow.
  • Perform scheduling, billing, referrals, and other clerical tasks.
  • Conduct patient outreach via phone and EMR messaging.
  • Collaborate in training, staffing, and practice functionality.
  • Provide feedback to team members.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with policies.

Job description


  • Coordinate and provide clerical/administrative duties for daily physician practice operations

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for patients and healthcare providers

  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to maintain the overall patient experience

  • Perform detail-oriented administrative tasks according to organizational policies and standard work

  • Gather information for accurate registration and check-in

  • Obtain and verify insurance authorizations and precertification

  • Complete medical record release requests

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments

  • Sustain patient schedule execution and flow

  • Collaborate in training, staffing, and practice functionality

  • Provide feedback to team members

  • Monitor changes in insurance coverage and reimbursement

  • Perform scheduling, scanning, billing, filing, referrals, work queues, and other clerical functions

  • Conduct patient outreach by telephone and EMR messaging


Requirements


  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 1 year customer service experience

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to maintain accuracy and compliance with detail-oriented responsibilities

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Proven proficiency of technology and EMR workflows at the conclusion of orientation

  • Ability to handle cash and other patient payment methods accurately

  • Ability to explain, educate, and support usage of the LVHN patient portal and its features

  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.

  • Frequent sitting and standing

  • Frequent keyboard use
