Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the General Surgery department. You will be on the front line for creating a positive patient experience by handling registration, scheduling, and billing inquiries with accuracy and care.

This full-time, on-site role at the Scripps Anderson Medical Pavilion in La Jolla involves a Monday–Friday 8AM–5PM schedule, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional development within a respected healthcare system.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration and scheduling.
• Respond to billing and payment inquiries from patients.
• Manage check-in/check-out processes, verify demographics and insurance details.
• Schedule and confirm appointments in person or by phone and enter insurance data.
• Initiate and validate referrals/authorizations.
• Provide proactive, courteous customer service and escalate issues when needed.
