Capital Health is seeking a patient-focused receptionist to join our team. You will answer telephones promptly, route calls, schedule appointments, and greet patients in a professional manner while upholding privacy policies.

You will collect co-pays, verify insurance, prepare charts, and support billing workflows. The role requires precision, good communication, and basic computer skills; prior healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: One year as receptionist or clerk in a healthcare setting or one year of customer service.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Certifications: Medical office technician or CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones promptly and courteously, while handling multiple phone lines.
• Routes patient calls to appropriate area or individual.
• Schedules and cancels appointments using established guidelines.
• Schedules patients for outpatient tests and surgeries per policy.
• Prepares patient charts and paperwork at presentation.
• Greets patients and visitors professionally and ensures privacy requirements are met.
• Collects co-pays and balances; verifies insurance information at check-in.
• Completes registrations and ensures accuracy of demographic data.
• Supports billing and claims processes, including check-out procedures.
