Job summary

PathGroup in United States seeks a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or as a PST, handling forensic and clinical specimen collection with professional conduct.

You will greet customers, collect specimens, enter data, and ensure accuracy and safety, following established procedures and privacy policies. This role requires attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred; required in Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures and explains venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly.
• Disposes of biohazard fluids and contaminated sharps per laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions in PathConnect and other PathGroup applications.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information with high accuracy.
• Matches requisition forms to specimens; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains proper specimen temperatures.
• Maintains daily PSC/IOPST logs and monthly statistics.
• Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
