Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures and explains venipuncture and other specimen collection methods clearly to patients.
• Disposes of blood and biohazard materials in accordance with laws, standards, and policies.
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and other PathGroup applications.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer; verifies handwritten orders and billing details.
• Matches requisition forms to specimens; labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and maintains specimen integrity per protocol.
• Maintains records and logs; assists with monthly statistics and data.
• Performs basic clerical duties including electronic data entry and time/expense reporting.
• Demonstrates organizational commitment and adheres to grooming, PPE, safety and privacy policies.
• Communicates with supervisor and coworkers to ensure a positive work climate and efficient service.
