Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a part-time Patient Service Representative to join our onsite team. The role supports visit preparation, patient arrival/departure, and payment processing while delivering a positive patient experience.

The position requires a high school diploma, strong interpersonal skills, and comfort with basic mathematics and Microsoft Office. Experience in healthcare settings is preferred and duties include scheduling and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certification: None.
• Years of relevant experience: Relevant (clerical or administrative duties in an office setting) experience is preferred.
• Years of experience supervising: None.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and families with prompt, caring responses.
• Handle co-pay collection and patient tracking as assigned.
• Schedule patient visits or diagnostic testing per hospital procedures.
• Manage third-party payors and collection of co-pays.
• Perform general clerical tasks: faxing, copying, filing, mailing, answering calls, and message distribution.
• Maintain front desk inventory and communicate needs to staff.
• Keep department orderly and support cross-coverage as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Complete other duties as required.
