Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a general office setting is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare environment is preferred.
• Experience with scheduling system is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and families, providing prompt, caring responses.
• Perform at-point-of-service duties such as visit prep, co-pay collection and patient tracking.
• Schedule patient visits or diagnostic testing using hospital procedures.
• Manage third-party payors and co-pay collection.
• Handle general clerical tasks: faxing, copying, filing, mailings and phone messages.
• Maintain front desk inventory and communicate needs to staff.
• Set and adjust priorities to ensure smooth department operation.
• Maintain neat waiting area and office appearance.
• Provide cross-coverage for clerical/administrative tasks as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
