Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Services Representative to provide front desk support in our medical practice. You will greet patients, register them, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and manage appointment scheduling.

Responsibilities include answering calls, coordinating testing, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring accurate charting in Epic. The role emphasizes patient-centered service and efficient office operations in a busy clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; healthcare experience preferred.
• 0–2 years in a customer service role; healthcare office experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and handles registration, including insurance verification and co-pays.
• Updates patient and company information; ensures privacy and confidentiality.
• Answers phones and schedules appointments; directs and documents calls.
• Coordinates outside testing and serves as liaison between patient and practice.
• Performs daily work to support patient safety and accurate charting in Epic.
• Completes chart prep and file handling for next-day appointments; processes records as needed.
