Job summary

Mary Free Bed is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients and families, collect demographics, verify insurance, and schedule appointments in the Orthotics & Prosthetics + Bionics Department. You will assist with registrations, explain benefits, collect co-pays, and guide patients through financial options.

The role supports Scheduling and Patient Financial Services and requires strong communication, data-entry accuracy, and a patient-centered approach in a busy rehabilitation

Qualifications

• GED/Diploma required; associates degree preferred.
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and data-entry abilities.
• Ability to work in a high-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors at the check-in desk and respond to needs.
• Collect demographic, insurance, and clinical data for registration.
• Schedule initial evaluations and follow-up appointments.
• Handle calls from insurance/care managers to coordinate care.
• Process payments and provide financial guidance when needed.
• Respond to inquiries in person, by phone, or online.
• Support Scheduling and Patient Financial Services staff as needed.
