Job summary

Mary Free Bed is seeking an Access Patient Service Representative in the Orthotics & Prosthetics + Bionics Department to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance information, and coordinate initial evaluations across multi-disciplinary teams.

You will handle check-in/out, explain benefits, collect co-pays, and assist with referrals and scheduling while delivering outstanding customer service in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of the GED/Diploma, Associates degree preferred.
• Strong data entry accuracy and reliability.
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
• Outstanding organizational and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment with professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, families, staff and visitors at check-in/out.
• Pre-register and register patients; collect demographic/insurance data.
• Coordinate/schedule initial evaluations and appointments for multi-disciplines.
• Manage calls from insurance/care managers to coordinate multi-discipline care.
• Collect charges and provide receipts; discuss self-pay balance and charity care options.
• Respond to inquiries from patients or their legal representatives.
• Perform other clerical/therapist support tasks as delegated by Manager.
• Provide care and support to scheduling and patient financial services staff.
