Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet patients and visitors at the front desk, handle scheduling, pre-registration, and insurance verification, and assist with financial processing.

You will collaborate with the Scheduling and Patient Financial Services teams to ensure accurate data entry, timely responses, and a positive patient experience in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• GED or Diploma is required; associate degree preferred.
• Strong data entry accuracy and keyboarding skills.
• Excellent telephone and customer service abilities.
• Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors at check-in/out, and assist with registration and scheduling.
• Verify insurance information, collect co-pays, and explain benefits.
• Coordinate initial evaluations and appointments across departments.
• Respond to phone, email, or in-person inquiries with confidentiality.
• Support with clerical tasks and inter-departmental coordination.
