Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Patient Services Representative to greet and assist patients and families at the check-in/out desk. You will verify demographics, insurance, and benefits, and coordinate multi-disciplinary appointments.

You will collect co-pays, explain benefits, and provide clerical support to Scheduling and Patient Financial Services teams, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate financial processing.

Qualifications

• GED or Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
• High accuracy data entry skills.
• Excellent telephone and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, families, staff, and visitors at the check-in/out desk.
• Pre-register and register patients by collecting demographic, insurance, and clinical data.
• Schedule initial evaluations and follow-up appointments for multi-disciplinary care.
• Coordinate calls from insurance/care managers to support multi-discipline care.
• Collect charges and post cash receipts; discuss self-pay and charity options.
• Respond to inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
• Perform other duties to support Scheduling and Patient Financial Services staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate reimbursement.
