Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health is seeking an experienced referral coordinator to manage referrals for services provided by our network. You will schedule appointments, tests, and procedures, respond to patient calls, and support staff in communicating with patients and physicians.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least 1 year in a provider office, and strong computer, communication, and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and ensure timely, accurate referrals.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with 1 year experience in provider office.
• Knowledge of insurance benefit programs and medical terminology.
• Ability to effectively interact with providers, staff, patients and insurance plan representatives a must.
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must have prior computer experience, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Responds to patient calls providing general information and education.
• Greets patients arriving for appointments, assists with forms and technology, and communicates delays to patients.
• Assesses needs of patients without appointments and processes requests for prescriptions, forms, appointments or for direct clinical support.
• Reviews schedules daily and ensures full bookings; manages e-DH worklists and reschedules as needed.
• Completes follow-up tasks for patients as directed by the After Visit Summary (e.g., scheduling labs and external procedures).
• Receives calls from providers, staff or external offices; assesses caller needs and processes requests.
• Monitors and processes system messages and faxes to meet patient needs.
• Completes Authorizations and Pre Certifications for external and STAT procedures.
