Qualifications

• Must have 1 year experience in provider office.
• Knowledge of insurance benefit programs and medical terminology.
• Ability to effectively interact with providers, staff, patients and insurance plan representatives.
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Must have prior computer experience, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient calls providing general information and education.
• Greets patients arriving for appointments, assists with forms and use of technology, and updates on delays.
• Assess needs of patients without appointments and process requests for prescriptions, forms, appointments or to speak to clinical staff.
• Review schedules daily for accuracy and ensure fully booked appointments.
• Complete follow up tasks such as scheduling labs/imaging and external procedures.
• Handle incoming calls, take messages, schedule appointments or transfer calls.
• Process authorizations and pre-certifications for external procedures.
• Review provider schedules and follow up with patients as needed.
• Support providers and staff with patient questions/concerns and service recovery when needed.
• Monitor referral work queues and ensure timely completion of referrals.
• Participate in initiatives to improve referral management processes.
