Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Services Representative for the Crystal Lake clinic. This full-time role supports front-desk operations, patient registration, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling in a busy medical practice.

You will also handle billing tasks, liaise with patients and staff, and maintain patient confidentiality. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 0–2 years of customer service experience; preferred is knowledge of medical terminology

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of customer service experience required.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration and insurance verification.
• Schedule appointments and answer phone calls.
• Collect co-pays and balances; update patient demographics.
• Coordinate scheduling of outside testing and liaise between patient and practice.
• Ensure patient safety and confidentiality in daily work.
• Process daily reconciliation and manage chart preparation for next-day appointments.
