Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Services Representative for the Crystal Lake Primary Care clinic. This full-time, days position requires 38 hours per week with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional Saturdays.

The role focuses on patient greeting, registration, insurance verification, copay collection, and coordinating appointments. Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling, liaising with patients, and ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0 to 2 years’ experience in a customer service position.
• Preferred: 1-3 years of physician office experience.
• Preferred: working knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and registers them, verifies insurance and collects copays.
• Answers phones and schedules appointments; direct and document calls as needed.
• Serves as liaison between patient and practice and coordinates scheduling of outside testing.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and accuracy in charts and daily reconciliation of charges.
