Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a medical office clerk to support the Weight Management & Wellness department on-site in Wilmington, NC. Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of medical office clerical experience, with knowledge of EPIC systems and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of clerical experience in a medical office setting is required.
• Knowledge of medical office software for updating patient demographics, posting charges, copays, and scheduling.
• Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to work with changing priorities and strong organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to function as part of a team and demonstrate initiative.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge is required.
• High level knowledge of EPIC systems.
• Familiarity with multiple payors billing requirements and coding requirements for the practice specialty.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals at least 50% of the time and/or perform_dimensions super-user functions such as practice support with EPIC or work queues.
• Support Dimensions super-user functions and practice-related EPIC tasks as needed.
