Qualifications

• Experience in customer service in a medical office is required.
• Familiarity with CPT/ICD coding preferred.
• Proficient also in handling payments and insurance details.

Responsibilities

• Answers phones and greets patients/visitors in person or by phone.
• Registers new patients and updates client demographics with accurate data.
• Collects co-payments, deductibles and outstanding balances.
• Obtain referrals and authorizations when required.
• Scans incoming documents and files into patient charts.
• Schedules follow-up services and appointments.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and PHI security.
• Ensures smooth patient flow between clerical and clinical staff.
