Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a friendly front-desk specialist to greet patients, pre-register and register, verify insurance, and collect co-pays at the check-in/out desk.

You will coordinate initial evaluations and multi-discipline appointments, handle scheduling, answer inquiries, and provide clerical support to Scheduling and Patient Financial Services, ensuring accurate data and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• GED/Diploma required or equivalent.
• Computer experience with high accuracy data entry.
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
• Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• High paced environment ability to adapt.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field preferred.
• 12-18 months’ work experience in healthcare with scheduling and/or PFS duties.

Responsabilités

• Greet, provide information, and respond to the needs of patients at the check-in/out desk.
• Accurately collect and analyze demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data for pre-registration and registration.
• Coordinate/schedule initial evaluations and multi-discipline appointments based on patient needs.
• Manage calls from insurance/care managers to coordinate care.
• Collect charges and post cash receipts; provide financial guidance for self-pay balance including charity care options.
• Respond to inquiries from patients or legal representatives.
• Provide clerical/therapist support as directed by Manager.
