Job summary

Akron Children’s is seeking a Patient Service Representative to support front desk operations, billing and appointment processes, ensuring a smooth patient experience from arrival to departure. You will greet patients and families, collect co-pays and coordinate visits with care teams.

This full-time onsite role requires strong organization, multitasking and communication skills, with healthcare office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with computerized scheduling systems preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families and provide prompt, caring response.
• Perform front-desk duties including co-pay collection and patient tracking.
• Schedule visits and diagnostic testing using hospital procedures.
• Manage third-party payors and collect co-pays.
• Maintain front desk inventory and support staff as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Support clerical and administrative cross-coverage.
• Handle general office tasks such as faxing, copying, filing, and mailings.
