Job summary

Community Health Network in Anderson, IN seeks a Patient Service Representative to support providers and clinical staff by handling patients' administrative needs. This role is essential to delivering the Patient’s First service as soon as you walk in the facility.

You will check patients in for appointments, collect payments, answer phones, take messages, schedule appointments, check patients out, coordinate referrals, and verify insurance eligibility using our EMR system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment or a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, email, and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in for appointments and check patients out.
• Collect patient payments and balance payments.
• Answer telephones and take accurate messages.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals.
• Verify insurance eligibility and update demographic information in the EMR.
• Post payments and balance accounts in the system.
