Job summary

Bridgeview Eye Partners is seeking a Patient Services Representative to facilitate communication between patients, doctors, and staff, with duties including verifying insurance, scheduling, check-in/out, and managing charts in the EHR. The role emphasizes friendly patient interaction, accurate data entry, handling billing inquiries, and coordinating referrals and payments.

A high school diploma is required; prior medical office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, or equivalent.
• Previous medical office experience and knowledge in medical coding/billing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner.
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, assist in patient communications and recalls.
• Respond to patient inquiries about billing, procedures, policies and available services.
• Prepare patient chart prior to appointment and complete upon patient arrival.
• Efficiently process patients through check out by verifying chart documentation and insurance information, accepting and posting payments, preparing and filing clean claims, authorizing insurance and billing, scheduling referrals, and accurately entering data into the EHR.
• Perform end of day tasks, balancing cash drawer, processing daily deposits, evaluating reports, and submitting essential reports.
• Monitor patient flow throughout the office, communicating delays and maintaining a safe environment.
