Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia seeks a Patient Services Associate II to professionally process arrival and departure activities for visits to the practice/department. You will obtain pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations, verify insurance, referrals, and patient demographics, and support a smooth patient flow through the clinic.

The role emphasizes courteous treatment of patients and visitors and requires strong data processing abilities and multitasking in a dynamic healthcare

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to communicate courteously with patients/visitors.
• Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients/visitors.
• Ability to process and interpret data.
• Ability to multitask while managing a time-sensitive workload.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Processes check-in/check-out and scheduling of patient appointments via EPIC.
• Obtains pre-certifications/pre-authorizations for procedures.
• Maintains efficient flow of practice and escalates patient/provider concerns as appropriate.
• Greets and interacts with patients/visitors in a professional manner, on phone or in person.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and compliance with laws.
• Other duties as assigned.
