Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University seeks a Patient Services Associate II to courteously and professionally manage patient arrivals and departures. You will verify insurance, certifications, and demographics, while supporting Jefferson’s patient-focused experience across its Philadelphia region network.

The role emphasizes timely patient flow, adherence to HIPAA, and collaboration with staff to deliver the Jefferson Experience in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate courteously with patients and/or visitors.
• Ability to process and interpret data and manage a time-sensitive workload.
• Experience with EPIC or similar patient management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process check-in and check-out, and scheduling via EPIC.
• Obtain pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures.
• Maintain efficient flow of practice and escalate patient/provider concerns as appropriate.
• Greet and interact with patients/visitors in a professional manner, on phone or in person.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
