Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a clinic support specialist to perform varied clerical duties in support of physicians and advanced practice providers. responsibilities include scheduling patients, handling calls, data entry, and insurance authorizations.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of office/clerical experience with strong organization and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and1 year office/clerical experience in customer service, call center, physician office or other clinical environment required.
• Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills; excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must attend all required coursework and have basic knowledge of medical terminology and PC applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of clerical services to support physicians and APPs.
• Schedule and add-on patients, answer calls, and enter patient data.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and referrals; schedule surgical cases.
