Job summary

UAB Medicine's Southview Medical Group in Birmingham is seeking a scheduling clerk to accurately schedule patients for prescribed procedures and perform registration-related clerical work. You will gather demographic, insurance, and clinical information, enter it into the database, coordinate schedules, assist with pre-certification coordination, and counsel patients on pre-service requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Note: required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients, participants and staff to accurately schedule patients for prescribed procedures.
• Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.
• Gather necessary demographic, insurance and clinical information from patient and enter into appropriate database.
• Schedule patient procedures in a manner that most efficiently utilizes the patient's time and clinical resources.
