Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a friendly clinic receptionist to support front desk operations at our Birmingham location. Under supervision, you will check in scheduled and add-on patients, route calls, and enter demographics, insurance and charges into our system.

You will assist with patient flow, check out patients, and perform related clerical duties to support revenue cycles. The role requires excellent customer service, basic medical terminology, and solid PC skills, with a high school diploma

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge and proficient PC skills.
• Strong math and bookkeeping abilities and accurate data entry.
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills with good English grammar.

Responsibilities

• Check in and check out patients; route calls and enter data.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments for clinic.
• Assist with clinic revenue tasks and patient follow-up as needed.
• Provide outstanding customer service to patients and staff.
