Job summary

Select Medical's outpatient physical therapy centers seek a Patient Service Specialist to greet and register patients, schedule appointments, and manage front desk operations at two sites (McKelvey & Shackelford), totaling 40 hours weekly. Responsibilities include insurance coordination, collecting co-pays, authorizations, and payer communications to support care teams.

Minimum High School Diploma or GED; one year front desk and healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone.
• Regular communication with insurance companies, translation companies, market operational leaders, and business development team.
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.

Position: Patient Service Specialist

Location: SSM Health Rehabilitation Center- McKelvey & Shackelford

Type of Employment: Full-time- Monday through Friday

Schedule: 35 hours at McKelvey and 5 hours at Shackelford, with the Shackelford hours being 1-6 on Wednesdays.

Compensation: $18/hour- Increases based on experience.
