Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Plano (Willow Bend), TX is seeking a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) for PRN float coverage across multiple outpatient clinics. This role requires strong organization, customer service, and flexibility.

You will handle check-in/check-out, insurance verifications, scheduling, and documentation while traveling to many clinics in the area to support coverage and treatment adherence. A HS diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient appointments with Center manager to minimize cancellations.
• Register patient information with signatures in the EMR.
• Verify insurance and obtain authorizations; explain benefits and billing policies.
• Collect patient payments/coins and post charges.
• Scan and maintain medical documents.
• Post charges and prepare reports for clean claim processing.
• Respond to information requests from patients, departments and physicians.
• Maintain office supplies and mail; manage front desk tasks.
• Adjust schedule to center needs and cover clinics as needed.
• Travel to non-home locations for coverage and attend mandatory meetings.

Patient Service Specialist (PSS)

Hours: vary M- F between 7am - 7pm

PRN (as needed)- Float

Candidate will be required to travel to multiple outpatient clinics.

Areas of Coverage: Addison, Farmers Branch, Coppell, Carrollton, Plano, Frisco, Richardson, The Colony, Little Elm

PRN rate: $21.00 per hour

We are seeking a highly organized, detail oriented, and flexible individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a team player who can also work independently, consistently delivering outstanding customer service and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately. Tasks include check in, check out, insurance verifications, scheduling, reports, faxing and scanning and other office duties. Travel to multiple locations will be required.

• Coordinates patient appointments, working with Center manager to minimize cancellations and support Treatment adherence.
• Registers patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate information documented in the electronic medical record.
• Verifies patient insurance, obtaining required authorizations before patient visit and explains benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
• Collects towards patient responsibility at each visit.
• Scan and maintain medical documents.
• Reconciles and posts charges daily and other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
• Responds to all request for information from patients, other department and physicians.
• Maintains office, orders supplies and manages mail.
• Willingness to adjust schedule to center needs.
• Travels Attends all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
• Travels to non-home location center or other site for coverage when necessary.
• HS diploma or GED is required
