Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in customer service or clerical/office experience, including answering phones and assisting customers.

Responsibilities

• Greets and checks in patients arriving for their appointments, verifies and updates patient demographics and insurance information.
• Verifies insurance benefits, collects patient responsibility and communicates payment expectations at time of service.
• Identifies patients needing financial assistance and refers to Financial Advocate as needed.
• Monitors patient flow and performs visit closure, including collecting additional patient responsibility and providing documents.
• Schedules patient visits using scheduling guidelines.
• Assists with new caregiver onboarding and processes EPIC work queues.
• Maintains professional relations with patients and staff, communicates issues for service improvement.
• Keeps knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and payer requirements and current accepted insurance plans.
