Job summary

Intermountain Health in Draper, Utah is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first contact with patients. This role emphasizes delivering excellent customer/patient satisfaction by handling intake, check-in/out, and data verification while supporting care teams.

The PSR greets patients, documents interactions, schedules appointments, and ensures accurate registration and insurance information. This position is PRN with benefit eligibility and locale options per posting.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients by phone, in person, or secure messaging and resolves patient needs related to intake and care.
• Documents all phone calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Registers patients over the phone or in person, updating demographic data in the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards and IDs, and may verify COB and pre-authorization as needed.
• Assists patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs and educates on financial assistance; processes payments.
