Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator at our Stamford, CT location. The role focuses on greeting patients, registering them, and ensuring timely, accurate access to care while maintaining positive interactions with providers and staff.

You will manage scheduling, insurance verifications, and patient communications, using Epic and patient portals to keep records current and to coordinate appointments. A strong customer service focus and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent; or 2+ years of customer service in a medical setting.
• 1 year of customer service experience in a fast-paced medical office.
• Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers exceptional customer service with the HHC brand experience.
• Welcomes patients in person or by phone and takes detailed messages.
• Registers arriving patients, including insurance verifications and updates.
• Uses Epic, patient portal and appointment systems to manage scheduling.
• Manages high call volumes and follows Standard Work.
• Corresponds with clinical operations and/or providers for escalations.
• Schedules patient appointments and informs on preparation requirements.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and related testing; obtain referrals where needed.
• Collects co-payments and explains billing policies to patients.
