Scripps Clinic - Carmel Valley is seeking a Patient Service Representative in the Allergy department to be on the front line of patient experience. You will gather information for accurate registration, schedule appointments, collect payments, and verify demographics and insurance.

Responsibilities include check-in/check-out, handling referrals/authorizations, and delivering proactive, customer-focused service while collaborating with providers and leadership to resolve issues.

• Assign Medical Record Number (MRN), schedule appointments, collect payments, and manage check-out processes.
• Respond to billing and payment inquiries and ensure accurate end-of-visit documentation.
• Schedule and confirm appointments in person or by phone, and enter insurance details.
• Initiate and validate referrals/authorizations.
• Provide proactive, solutions-focused customer service and involve leadership when needed.

Join a caring team supporting Scripps Clinic - Carmel Valley as a Patient Service Representative in the Allergy department. You'll be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for our patients while being responsible for duties such as the following:

• Interacting with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration. Assigning of Medical Record Number, appointment scheduling, point of service payment collection, document collection and check-out functions.
• Responding to customer billing and payment inquires.
• Effectively managing the check in or check out process, which includes identification verification; confirming demographic and insurance information; ensuring appropriate forms are provided, signed, and witnessed at the time of the patient visit and accurately preparing end of day reporting or payment reconciliation.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments in person or over the phone and entering appropriate insurance.
• Initiating and validating referrals/authorizations.
• Having a proactive approach to customer service by listening to the patient, taking ownership of solutions and being able to identify the need to involve leadership to resolve concerns.
