You will collect demographics, verify insurance, obtain referrals and authorizations, and support billing inquiries while coordinating with providers and front-desk staff to ensure smooth check-in and checkout processes.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration.
• Assign Medical Record Numbers, schedule appointments, collect point-of-service payments, and handle document collection and checkout.
• Respond to billing questions and patient inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Verify demographics and insurance information and ensure proper forms are provided and signed.
• Schedule and confirm appointments in person or by phone and enter insurance details.
• Initiate and validate referrals/authorizations.
• Provide proactive, patient-centered service and escalate concerns when needed.

Join a caring team supporting Scripps Anderson Medical Pavilion as a Patient Service Representative in the Cardiology department. You'll be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for our patients while being responsible for duties such as the following:

• Interacting with patients and providers to gather information for accurate registration. Assigning of Medical Record Number, appointment scheduling, point of service payment collection, document collection and check-out functions.
• Responding to customer billing and payment inquires.
• Effectively managing the check in or check out process, which includes identification verification; confirming demographic and insurance information; ensuring appropriate forms are provided, signed, and witnessed at the time of the patient visit and accurately preparing end of day reporting or payment reconciliation.
• Scheduling and confirming appointments in person or over the phone and entering appropriate insurance.
• Initiating and validating referrals/authorizations.
• Having a proactive approach to customer service by listening to the patient, taking ownership of solutions and being able to identify the need to involve leadership to resolve concerns.
