Prisma Health Urgent Care in Newberry, SC is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the friendly first point of contact and manage front-office operations.

The role includes handling insurance verification, financial responsibilities, and coordinating with the care team. Shifts are 12 hours, 3 days per week, with no overnights, and occasional travel to other Prisma Health Urgent Care locations may be required.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Administrative Assistant certificate is a plus.
• 1+ year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Experience using EMR software, EPIC preferred.

Aufgaben

• Greet and assist patients and visitors with a positive attitude, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
• Maintain confidentiality while collecting and organizing important patient and business documents.
• Verify health insurance benefits, eligibility, and provide patients with relevant payment policies and billing information.
• Determine and collect each patient’s financial responsibility, ensuring transparency about costs.
• Assist the practice manager, providers, and other staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Understand and enforce HIPAA and OSHA standards in documentation and processes.
• Perform office procedures and general administrative tasks; operate office medical equipment.
• Oversee quality assurance and track patient results as required.
• Travel to other Prisma Health Urgent Care locations as needed.
