Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare registration or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic cash handling knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite; RIS software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and register them with demographic and insurance data into RIS.
• Explain forms and assist with completion, on paper or tablet as needed.
• Process paperwork and maintain confidentiality.
• Collect patient payments and explain benefits when necessary.
• Prepare paperwork for future appointments and payors as needed.
• Ensure orders for diagnostic tests are in place and follow up on requests.
• Schedule and reschedule patients as needed.
• Generate daily invoice journal and reconcile payments.
