Job summary

Patient First in Colonial Heights, VA is seeking a Patient Service Representative to assist patients at the kiosk, escort to treatment, and manage registration with a focus on friendly, compassionate service.

The role requires basic typing, clerical experience, and strong communication skills. You will handle billing inquiries, verify patient data, collect payments, and support front-office operations in a fast-paced center.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Basic typing skills.
• Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients using the kiosk prior to registration.
• Escort patients to the treatment area for registration and evaluation.
• Communicate information about billing policies to patients as needed.
• Register patients accurately with excellent customer service.
• Verify patient demographics, health, pharmacy and insurance information.
• Answer billing questions and provide itemized billing statements.
• Refer billing questions to appropriate parties as needed.
• Collect money and issue receipts for visits and supplies.
• Discharge patients and process incurred charges.
• Complete all cash handling duties at end of shift.
• Handle correspondence and filing as directed.
• Answer incoming calls and distribute messages promptly.
• Assist with other assignments as directed.
• Maintain proficiency with the electronic medical record system.
• Receive, move, and stock supplies; maintain front office area.
• Verify daily reports and participate in staff meetings.
