Patient First is seeking a friendly and organized Patient Service Representative in Virginia Beach to assist patients at the front desk, manage check-in, and handle billing questions within the EMR environment.

The role emphasizes compassionate customer service, accurate data entry, and efficient cash handling, with benefits including health coverage and paid time off. Center operations require flexibility to support staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Basic typing skills.
• Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 7 hours at a time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Willing to work at any center as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients using the kiosk prior to registration.
• Escort patients to the treatment area for registration and evaluation.
• Explain billing policies to patients as needed.
• Register patients accurately and provide courteous service.
• Verify demographic, health, pharmacy, and insurance information.
• Answer billing questions and provide itemized statements.
• Process payments and issue receipts as prompted by EMR.
• Discharge patients and finalize charges.
• Handle daily cash management and end-of-shift reconciliation.
• Answer calls and distribute messages promptly.
• Maintain front office cleanliness and stock supplies.
• Attend staff meetings and assist as directed.
