Mercy Clinic Gastroenterology is seeking a Patient Service Representative to greet and register patients, verify identities, and manage check-in/out at a busy clinic in St. Louis. You will handle calls, scheduling, and clerical tasks, ensuring accurate EHRs and smooth workflow for providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance and billing processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check-in/out.
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing.
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide estimates and Good Faith Estimates.
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow.
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues.
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate as needed.
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans.
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications.
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
