Mercy Clinic Gastroenterology in St. Louis is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact, greeting patients, registering them, and managing front desk workflows.

This full-time role supports EPIC charting, scheduling, and patient finances in a fast-paced clinic setting. You will coordinate with staff to maintain clinic flow, verify identities, handle inquiries, and ensure privacy and infection control policies are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, billing processes, and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check‑in/check‑out
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate as needed
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Details

Patient Service Representative - Mercy Clinic Gastroenterology Location: 10012 Kennerly Road, Suite 102, St. Louis, MO 63128 Schedule: Full Time | 40 Hours/Week | Mon-Fri | 7:30am -4pm or 8am -4:30pm

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Customer service experience preferred.
