Job summary

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to manage patient visit scheduling, information gathering, exam scheduling, and coordination of staff, rooms, and equipment.

Responsibilities include insurance verification, referrals, authorization management, and pre-certification on all scheduled patient accounts, while delivering exceptional customer service and cross-training for front desk duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital scheduling environment preferred.
• Imaging scheduling experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Excel/Word applications required.
• Experience with Epic systems preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills required.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills needed.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to interact with diverse personalities.
• Knowledge of hospital computer systems required.
• Knowledge of terminal digit filing systems required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient visits, acquire visit information and schedule exams.
• Coordinate staff, rooms, and equipment for examinations.
• Verify insurance, manage referrals, and pre-certifications for scheduled accounts.
• Serve as liaison among Care Management, Business Office, patients, physician offices and insurers.
• Provide exemplary customer service for scheduling activities.
• Collect payments and inform patients/physicians of billing policies.
• Cross-trained to cover front desk reception and registration as needed.
