Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to coordinate patient appointments across multiple departments and clinics. You will collect demographic, insurance and diagnostic data, enter it into the scheduling system, and support pre-registration and payer checks.

You will verify eligibility with payers, collaborate with physician offices for authorizations, and ensure accurate data entry in EPIC while maintaining weekly scheduling metrics and high service standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
• Experience with Excel and Word preferred.
• Knowledge of scheduling, registration, and payer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Obtain required demographic data to schedule appointments and enter into the scheduling system.
• Create a pre-registration for each visit including insurance and financial information.
• Verify insurance and eligibility using online verification or by contacting the payer.
• Collaborate with physician offices to secure authorization, pre-certification and/or notification when necessary.
• Scan orders into the EPIC system, provide patient instructions, and support scheduling/authorization metrics.
