Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Patient Services Assistant to provide front-line clerical and receptionist support in the practice. You will greet patients, answer calls, schedule appointments, register patients, verify insurance, collect payments, and help coordinate referrals and tests.

As the first contact, you will maintain accuracy in patient information, explain policies, and ensure friendly, professional service to a diverse patient population while supporting the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in a medical office or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, families and visitors and answer incoming calls.
• Verify patient insurance and update patient information accurately.
• Schedule patient appointments for all providers using multiple systems.
• Register new patients and explain policy details, no-show and payment procedures.
• Collect copayments, process referrals and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
