Job summary

Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a Central Scheduling Specialist to manage appointment scheduling, pre-registration, and pre-authorization through a centralized system. You will be the first point of contact for patients calling the central line, collecting demographics, verifying insurance, and guiding patients through test preparations.

Under the Central Scheduling Manager, you will ensure adherence to guidelines, coordinate with providers, and support revenue cycle goals.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Two years hospital or physician office registration and scheduling experience.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Knowledge of government reimbursement and managed care insurance regulations.
• Coding or Medical Terminology certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule general appointments and emergency appointments using the central system.
• Complete patient-registration for new Penn Medicine Princeton Health patients.
• Review and verify patient demographics for NJDDCS compliance.
• Verify insurance eligibility and ensure necessary referrals/pre-certifications are in place.
• Communicate all necessary information to patients and providers regarding authorization requirements.
