Job summary

Central Florida Health Care, Inc. is seeking a Patient Registration Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients, greeting them and collecting demographics, insurance details, and financial information.

The role involves data entry, registration, and ensuring accurate electronic medical records across multiple EMR systems. Under supervision of the Health Center Administrator, you will support scheduling, billing, and daily cash handling while maintaining HIPAA compliance

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or relevant experience.
• 1 year in a health care setting in data entry/medical records/receptionist preferred.
• Bilingual: Fluent in English (Spanish or Creole) – preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and process registrations per CFHC patient flow model.
• Know EHR processes, IDCOP, Sliding Fee Scale, HIPAA, Joint Commission, Medical Record policy, scheduling, patient rights and grievances.
• Create new patient accounts and retrieve established accounts from EMR systems.
• Establish proficiency in scheduling, registration and billing applications.
• Gather demographics, financial, educational and occupational data.
• Verify insurance, check eligibility and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Review accuracy of claims at end of visit (data entry, codes, payments).
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments; balance end-of-day activities and run reports.
• Maintain cash drawers and complete end-of-day summaries.
