Job summary

Humana Inc. seeks a Referral and Scheduling Coordinator to schedule and pre-register patients for exams and procedures with outside specialists and providers.

This patient-facing role participates in Humana’s TB screening program and supports care coordination across CenterWell Senior Primary Care centers. Responsibilities include communicating prep instructions, interpreting department policies, and working within defined parameters to meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Less than 3 years healthcare experience in a clinical setting.
• Proficient with medical terminology.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Excellent professional communication abilities at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and pre-registers patients for exams and procedures with outside specialists and providers.
• Gathers and communicates all relative information and preparation instructions to patient and referring providers.
• Interprets area/department policy and methods for completing assignments within defined parameters.
• Supports TB screening program as part of Humana.
• Prioritizes and times tasks with some independent discretion to meet quality standards.
