Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator in Boston to manage the scheduling of procedures, pre-admission testing and follow-up visits. The role requires coordinating with physicians, staff, and external partners to ensure timely, accurate scheduling and documentation.

You will handle patient communications, maintain multiple scheduling systems, and ensure preauthorization and referrals are in place.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for procedures, pre-admission testing, surgery, follow up and wait list; notifies patients of scheduled procedures and provides details.
• Maintains multiple scheduling systems and collects patient data; coordinates locations, staff and resources; ensures accurate demographic data entry.
• Communicates schedules daily; reviews revisions with staff and posts updates.
• Serves as liaison to internal departments and external resources.
• Coordinates paperwork and preauthorization; processes referrals for procedures.
• Monitors documentation of procedures and resources; tracks equipment usage; generates revision logs.
• Contracts with vendors to coordinate delivery of equipment and ensure resources for procedures.
