Job summary

The Cigna Group's CarepathRx division seeks an Intake Care Representative to serve as the first contact for patients, providers, and hospitals. You will guide referrals through intake, collect accurate information, and help start care promptly. The role emphasizes organized, compassionate service in a healthcare setting.

You will support onboarding, coordinate with care teams, and ensure confidential handling of patient data while navigating a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare or related healthcare support experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for patients, handling calls and guiding them through the intake process.
• Gather information, explain next steps, and connect patients with care teams.
• Handle inbound/outbound communication with patients, providers, and facilities.
• Assist timely patient onboarding by entering referral information accurately.
• Triage referral packets and direct to appropriate teams.
• Coordinate home health services based on patient needs and insurance requirements.
• Verify treatment timelines and home infusion scheduling needs.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the medical record system.
• Collaborate with Intake Coordinators and nurses to move referrals efficiently.
• Communicate updates to prevent delays in care.
• Transfer insurance information to Verification teams.
• Deliver exceptional service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
